Raphaël Matieu’s practice evolves through diversionary games. The works are presented as objects of thought made of by the encounter of elements of our everyday life. Copy. Move. Rename. Edit. These daily fragments are combined according to assembly logics and together make the contours of new stories. They act as bait, distributing new spectra of perspective. Through these gaps, the works question ourselves on the multiplicity of viewpoints, by demonstrating the replayability of our daily lives. By using these tricks Raphaël invites us to (re)think surfaces that have been transformed.
